After 12 years of dedicated service, Superior Court Judge Richard Bartheld of Yakima County has announced his retirement, effective November 2024. As he looks forward to his retirement, Judge Bartheld advocates for the people of Yakima County to determine his successor through the November election. While leaving this crucial decision in the hands of the community, he extends his support to James Elliott as the candidate he believes is best suited to fill his esteemed seat. Judge Bartheld is confident that Mr. Elliott possesses the civil litigation experience, and the appropriate demeanor to strengthen the Yakima County Superior Court.
