MEET James Elliott

I arrived in Yakima Valley in 1998, lured by the promise of a tight-knit legal community and immediate involvement in serving the area. For 25 years, I’ve dedicated myself to practicing law and serving our community. My extensive experience in civil litigation, handling various cases like commercial law, employment, insurance, and more, positions me as a strong candidate for Department 8 Judge.

With the impending retirements of two esteemed judges, Richard H. Bartheld and Blaine G. Gibson, both with substantial civil law expertise, I see an opportunity to contribute to the Superior Court Bench. Encouragement from judges and peers who believe in my skills and demeanor for this role is incredibly motivating.

Beyond my legal career, I initially focused on nurturing the next generation of community leaders. My involvement in coaching youth soccer and later engaging with church youth groups from 1998 to 2022 reflects my commitment to youth development. Witnessing the young individuals I’ve mentored making positive contributions to our community is profoundly rewarding.

Grateful for the chance to pursue the Department 8 position and inspired by the legacy of Rick Bartheld, I look forward to continuing my service to our community in this new and exciting capacity.
My name is James Elliott.
